OffLeaseOnly Supports JDRF One Walk On Saturday March 2nd

Team Off Lease Only is looking for supporters to join them on Saturday, March 2nd for the JDRF One Walk.

JDRF One Walk

Join us this Saturday as we walk to help raise awareness for diabetes Type 1!

Off Lease Only’s Online Reputation Supervisor, Sharon Dibble, will be leading Off Lease Only’s team in the JDRF two mile One Walk, starting at Meyer Amphitheater in downtown West Palm Beach at 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 (if you’re not already registered). They will be joining approximately 82 other teams and 2,000+ people for this family fun event!

Dibble is hoping others, who want to support research for diabetes Type 1, will join her in the walk or go online to make a contribution.

So far, Dibble’s efforts have led to Off Lease Only proudly becoming a sponsor for the third year in a row, and the only car dealership participating, along with other sponsors, such as WaWa, Florida Power and Light, and many others. The walk is put on by the JDRF Greater Palm Beach County Chapter.

“It’s a great family event,” said Dibble, who is hoping Team Off Lease Only will inspire others to donate to help raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes.

For Dibble, involvement in the two mile West Palm Beach JDRF One Walk and leading Off Lease Only’s Team is personal.

Delsie was diagnosed with T1D when she was eight years old. She appreciates everyone coming out to support!

Her niece’s daughter, Delsie, was diagnosed with T1D when she was eight years old. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disorder where your immune systems attacks the pancreas and kills the cells that make insulin. T1D patients need insulin every day in order to survive. The exact cause of the disease is unknown.

“I never realized how serious this disease is,” Dibble said. “Every day she has to get a minimum of 4 shots, one for every time she eats.”

Those with the disease, according to JDRF, must constantly monitor their blood-sugar level, rely on injected or infused insulin and carefully monitor their eating and activity daily.

To show her support and gratitude, Delsi is planning to participate in the walk on Saturday.

Dibble says financial support of JDRF, which has raised more than $2 billion so far, has led to great results. JDRF funds research that focuses on Type 1, but the research and advances help with diabetes and all diabetics as a whole. Approximately 1.25 million people in the U.S. have Type 1 Diabetes, with an estimated 40,000 new cases each year.

“They’ve contributed toward research that has resulted in many breakthroughs, including helping with better management of the disease,” Dibble said. “They provide funding for grants that research genetic screening as well as more high tech methods of providing insulin.”
