Easily meet the Postmates, Instacart and DoorDash car requirements with these affordable rides from Off Lease Only

Having a side hustle right now, is a great way to make ends-meet. Even with many of the travel restrictions brought on by the Covid19 virus, many delivery services are seeing a huge uptick in growth. Companies like Postmates, Instacart and DoorDash, allow people to get their groceries and restaurant meals delivered to their door. Since the entire transaction takes place electronically, drivers do not need to actually come in contact with the customers. Simply unload the items from your vehicle, drop them on the doorstep and you’re done. Easy Peezy.

Each service pays differently, so make sure to do your homework before you sign up. Obviously, you’re going to need a reliable vehicle to do this. There are different Postmates car requirements, DoorDash car requirements and Instacart car requirements. So we’ve assembled 3 affordable used cars from Off Lease Only, that will more than adequately meet these delivery service car requirements.

Used Ford EcoSport

The used Ford EcoSport is a small high-riding hatchback, that’s sort of like a Focus station wagon on stilts. It offers all of the ride height and visibility of a crossover, with the added advantage of extra cargo room. What makes it perfect for use as a DoorDash or Postmates delivery vehicle is the affordable price, and the aforementioned cargo room. Out back there is a side hinged rear tailgate, 20.9 cu-ft of cargo space behind the second row and 50 cu-ft with the second row folded. That gives you plenty of room for all of those groceries and/or Mickey D bags. The interior is a nice place to spend time driving around in. And you get a lot of really useful standard equipment like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 4G Wi-Fi, and programmable keys with teenage driver function (it can set driving parameters like top speed).

Two engines can be found in a used Ford EcoSport; a 1.0L turbo 3cyl that makes 123 hp, or a 2.0L 4cyl that makes 166 hp. In models starting with the used Ford EcoSport SES, the larger engine comes standard and is mated to an AWD system. According to the EPA, this configuration will net you 23 city/29 Highway/25 combined, which means you’ll be able to save some money at the pump. And since they start at just $12,999 at Off Lease Only, you’ll be able to save some serious money when you buy it too. Click here to find the perfect Ford EcoSport

Used Chevrolet Trax

If you want to meet the DoorDash car requirements/PostMates car requirements/Instacart car requirements, you’ll be delighted to know that a used Chevrolet Trax offers 18.7 cu-ft of delivery goodie room behind the second row. Fold the backseats flat and you’ll get 48.4 cu-ft of room to hold stuff like avocado toast platters from the Uppity Cafe, or super big bundles of organic bamboo toilet paper from the Whole Foods.

Standard kit includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot. Get a used Chevrolet Trax LT and you’ll extra niceties like LED headlamps, upgraded interior and exterior trim, a 110 V household outlet and remote engine start. Other optional extras include keyless entry and pushbutton start, a sunroof and heated synthetic leather bound front seats. AWD is available, and all trims are powered by a 1.4L turbo-4 that makes 138 hp. You’re certainly not going to win any stoplight drag races in this little rig. But you will get a very DoorDash driver friendly fuel economy rating of 25 city/33 Highway/28 combined. And since prices start at just $10,999 at Off Lease Only, you’ll save a bunch of money there as well. Click here to find the perfect Chevy Trax

Used Kia Soul

And if the right option boxes were checked, you can get a number of really cool features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a big glass roof, and speakers that light up in sync with the music.

The standard 1.6L 4-pot makes 130 hp, which is about average for this segment. You can however, step up to a 2.0L 4-chamber that makes a much more entertaining 160 hp. Of course this boxy little hamster wheel isn’t going to blow anybody’s doors off. But at least it’ll be a lot more entertaining to drive. And speaking of entertainment, the used Kia Soul ! (a.k.a. Kia Soul Exclaim) gets a 1.6L turbo-4 that makes a wildly entertaining (at least in this application) 201 hp. Pick this one if you want to make sure those Vegan Soy lattes arrive hot.

The used Kia Soul 2.0L is rated at 25/30/27, and the used Kia Soul 1.6T gets 25/30/27. Those are all delivery friendly numbers. As is the cargo volume, which is a healthy 24.2 cu-ft behind the second row. Fold the rear seats (nearly) flat, and you’ll be looking at a touch over 61 cu-ft.
